Dr. Nesnick’s professional, personalized services are  provided face-to-face or, when appropriate, by phone or e-mail.   Her services have resulted in enhancing the knowledge, skills, and dispositions of the new and practicing faculty and administrators with whom she has consulted.

Dr. Nesnick consults with individual instructors to:
  1. Create Effective Syllabi
    Dr. Nesnick reviews an individual instructor’s syllabi then confers with him/her and provides specific, practical suggestions that will enhance the teaching-learning process.
  2. Create Effective Lesson Plans
    Dr. Nesnick reviews an individual instructor’s lesson plans then confers with him/her and provides specific, practical suggestions that will enhance the submitted and future lesson plan(s) and learning process.
  3. Teach Effectively
    Dr. Nesnick uses a 3-Part Classroom Observation Method.
    First, is the Pre-Observation Conference during which Dr. Nesnick and the instructor reviews his/her lesson plan.
    Second, is the Classroom Observation during which  Dr. Nesnick observes the class for one entire period.
    Third, is the Post-Observation Conference during which the instructor and Dr. Nesnick share their perceptions of the lesson and both make practical suggestions that will improve future lessons.
  4. Motivate Students to Learn
    Dr. Nesnick confers with individual instructors regarding the specific strategies they implement successfully or unsuccessfully to motivate student learning. Dr. Nesnick will discuss best practices and tips proven to enhance student motivation for learning.
  5. Actively Engage Students in Their Learning Process
    Dr. Nesnick confers with individual instructors regarding the specific strategies they implement successfully or unsuccessfully to actively engage students in their learning process. Dr. Nesnick will discuss best practices and tips to actively engage students in their learning and, thus, enhance the teaching-learning process.
  6. Create Effective Written Tests
    Dr. Nesnick reviews an individual instructor’s  written tests then confers with him/her and provides specific, practical suggestions that will enhance the submitted and future tests, thus enhancing the teaching-learning process.
  7. Utilize Effective  Assessments Other Than Written Tests
    Dr. Nesnick confers with individual instructors or groups to discuss their various means of assessing student achievement, other than using a written test.  She offers numerous suggestions that can be implemented effectively almost immediately.
  8. Work Effectively With Difficult Student Behaviors
    Dr. Nesnick confers with individual instructors regarding difficult and/or disruptive behaviors of their students. Together, Dr. Nesnick and the instructor explore strategies that can minimize, end, or prevent such behaviors while promoting acceptable and desirable behaviors and simultaneously enhance student self-esteem and success. 
Dr. Nesnick consults with administrators to:
  1. Help faculty develop into effective educators
  2. Enhance syllabi requirements and format
  3. Enhance lesson plan requirements and format
  4. Enhance lesson observation procedures and format
  5. Enhance faculty’s use of teaching and assessment tools
  6. Enhance faculty evaluation procedures and format
Dr. Nesnick consults with instructors and administrators to:
  1. Improve their institution’s Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL)
  2. Create an onsite and/or online CETL
  3. Develop a Teaching in Higher Education Certificate Program
